Eating Right for Healthy Hair
Healthy hair comes out of not just regularly washing your hair. It is a result of what you eat. If your diet consists mainly of foods that are oily or full of fats, then this could be where the problem lies in getting shiny, healthy hair.
Hair gets it’s nutrition from what you eat. If you have a balanced diet which includes healthy proteins such as meats, eggs and pulses you will have strong healthy hair. You may have noticed some people having very shiny hair and a reason for this is that they regularly include fish in their diet. Fish provides body with a good amount of protein and in addition to this it is also rich is essential fatty acids and natural oils. Intake of a protein rich drink can also help to reduce the problem of unhealthy hair.

It is important to take a diet with foods rich in Vitamin B, C, E, A and K, as this will give you strong healthy hair and you will not experience hair fall. Intake of Vitamin B can be obtained from sunflower seeds, green vegetables, and nuts. Vitamin C can be gained from citrus fruits, melons and berries. Vitamin E is found in dark green vegetables, legumes rice bran, whole grains avocados, and nuts. Foods such as carrots, broccoli, sweet potatoes are rich in Vitamin A. Vitamin K can be taken from seafood, dairy foods, Brussels sprouts, rye, soybeans, asparagus, egg yolks, figs, dark green leafy vegetables, lettuce, cabbage, oatmeal, and yogurt.
In addition to vitamins you must also include food rich in iron, potassium and magnesium. Iron can be found in eggs, fish, meat, whole grains, green leafy vegetables and blackstrap molasses. Potassium can be obtained from, fish, poultry, pulses, blackstrap molasses, oranges and Tortula yeast. Magnesium can be obtained form dairy foods, brewer’s yeast, fish, green-leafy vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and nuts.
If you are experiencing hair fall or poor hair texture, look into your diet. Eliminate fatty foods and fast foods. Replace such foods with well-cooked and delicious meals that have the right balance of proteins, vitamins and minerals so that you can have hair texture that is smooth, and shiny.
